Legal Framework & Member Agreements

1. Rental Period and Extensions

The rental period begins and ends at the times specified in your booking confirmation. Late returns may incur additional charges at 1.5x the hourly rate. Extensions must be approved in advance and are subject to vehicle availability.

2. Driver Requirements (South African Law)

• Minimum age: 21 years (25 years for luxury/sports vehicles)
• Valid South African driver's license (Code B minimum) or International Driving Permit
• Minimum 2 years of driving experience
• Additional drivers must be declared and meet the same requirements
• Driver's license must be in English or accompanied by a certified translation

3. Vehicle Condition and Inspection

You must inspect the vehicle before departure and report any damage or issues. Photos will be taken at pickup and return. You are responsible for the vehicle's condition during the rental period.

4. Mileage and Fuel Policy

• Standard mileage allowance: 200km per day
• Additional mileage: R3-R10 per km (depending on vehicle category)
• Fuel: Return vehicle with the same fuel level or pay refueling fee of R500 + fuel cost

5. Geographic Restrictions

Unless specifically authorized, vehicles may only be driven within South Africa. Cross-border travel to neighboring countries requires prior written approval and additional insurance.

6. Prohibited Uses

The vehicle may NOT be used for:

• Racing, rallying, or any competitive driving events
• Teaching someone to drive
• Towing or pushing other vehicles
• Transportation of illegal goods
• Subletting or unauthorized commercial use
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Off-road driving (unless explicitly permitted for specific vehicles)
